Abstract
Visible (670-nm) diode lasers have recently become commercially available. As well as offering ease of visible operation, these devices are attractive for atomic physics because the tuning range includes the resonance transition of the lithium atom, the Balmer-α line of hydrogen, and the red intercombination line of calcium.
