Lasing without inversion: nonlinear theory

Not Accessible

Abstract

In previous work,1-3 linear analysis was given for degenerate1 and nondegenerate2 noninversion lasers. This analysis gives the gain but not steady state intensities and cannot determine which intensity is stable. Another question is the influence of the intensity on the cancellation of atomic absorption. Here we present a nonlinear theory of a noninversion lasing problem for both nondegenerate and degenerate cases.
