Abstract

Quasi-zero dimensional structure, i.e., semiconductor quantum box (QB) or quantum dot (QD) is attractive not only from stand point of device application but also from that of fundamental physics. In this report, a possibility of digitized shift of absorption and emission lines by electron-hole pair excitation in DC biased semiconductor QB structure will be discussed. It will be pointed out that stochastic nature of electron-hole pair excitation in the biased QB structure would be investigated through the observation of voltage spikes at bias circuit.
