Abstract

Since it has been demonstrated that hematoporphyrin derivative (HpD) is an effective photosensitizer in photoradiation therapy for treatment of a variety of solid malignant tumors in man, its photophysical, photochemical and biological behaviors have been widely investigated1. However, the mechanism that HpD selectively accumulates in malignant tumor cells is not yet well ungerstood.
