Abstract

New light sources are always attractive for spectroscopists. Yerv recently BFB (distributed feedback) semiconductor laser, which has no Fabry-Ferot type cavity, becomes available in the 1.3- and 15~pm region» Although it is produced for the advanced optical communications, it is an excellent light source for spectroscopy.
