Abstract

In the direct irradiation implosion, short wavelength lasers are necessary for high coupling efficiency1). Namely, the third or fourth harmonic of Nd glass laser is considered to be appropriate as the driver. However, a major potential problem in this approach is irradiation nonuniformity which leads to nonuniform implosion.
