Abstract
Recently, the existence of ionic alkali halide excimers (A2+X−) and ionic rare gas halide excimers (Rg2+X−) have been predicted [1]. These new ionic excimers are expected to emit in the vacuum ultraviolet in close analogy to the isoelectronic neutral rare gas halides, halogens and inter-halogens, and are interesting candidates for new VUV/XUV lasers.
