Abstract
The solution of the photorefractive four-wave mixing equations with pump depletion [1] has led to the development of many novel devices including self-pumped phase conjugate mirrors and the double phase conjugate mirror [2]. One of the features of the solution which has not been fully investigated is the nature of the multiple solutions which appear with sufficiently large coupling strengths. These multiple solutions are candidates for mirrorless optical bistability which would have several applications in optical computing.
