Abstract

We report new results on the femtosecond optical Kerr response of liquid CS2, identifying three novel observations. Similar behavior is observed for other Kerr liquids, and these results are discussed briefly in the context of ultrafast relaxation phenomena intrinsic to liquids and the specific influence of field-induced-driven responses.
