Abstract

CdSexS1-x microcrystallites can be developed within an otherwise transparent glass by adding small amounts of CdO, elemental sulfur, and selenium to the batch materials and heat-treating after the annealing process. These glasses form the basis of the sharp-cut filters first produced commercially by Corning.
