Abstract
Intracavity laser spectroscopy (ILS) has been shown by several groups to be an extremely sensitive method (or detecting absorption from a species placed within the optical resonator cavity of a multimode laser.1 It also is recognized that lasers are sensitive to optical feedback from extracavity sources,2 The work presented here examines the use of ILS to analyze quantitatively small amounts of extracavity feedback through a spectral analysis of the output from a broadband dye laser.
