Thrust of the free-electron laser into the XUV region

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Recent progress in optical, undulator, and accelerator technologies has provided us with the required development tools for short-wavelength FELs. The constraints and opportunities for coherent FELs in the sub-1000-Å region will be discussed.
