Abstract

Since 1979 when the HgTe-CdTe superlattice (SL) was first proposed as a new IR material, significant theoretical and experimental attention has been given to the study of this new superlattice system. The first HgTe-CdTe SL was grown in 1982 by MBE on a CdTe substrate; they are currently grown on different substrates, e.g., CdZnTe or GaAs.
