Abstract

In this treatment, we use the physical properties of the bound exciton optical nonlinearity in CdS1 to analyze the local bistable condition in the material due to induced absorption.2,3 The coupled Maxwell's equations in the slowly varying envelope and phase approximation (SVEA) for the forward propagating field EF+ and the backward propagating field EB+ in steady state,
