Abstract
We present the first measurements of the phase of the phase-conjugate reflection. The measurement involves determination of the operating point (relative phase between combining waves) of a phase-conjugate interferometer. In addition to yielding information about the physics of degenerate four-wave mixing in various media, these results are significant for applications that require a biasing mechanism to set the operating point of a phase-conjugate interferometer.
