Abstract

This paper presents the recent research progress accomplished with one beam of the six-beam glass-laser facility of SIOM on laser-plasma interaction and x-ray spectroscopy of laser-produced plasmas. Our six-beam laser facility has been described previously in detail. In recent experiments it operated at two different pulse widths (FWHM) of 100 psec and 300–600 psec with a bandwidth of less than 1 Å. The maximum intensity on target was up to 1015 W/cm2. Meanwhile, various arrangements could be used to introduce a deliberate prepulse structure if necessary. We used both planar targets and microspherical targets of several configurations.
