Abstract

Laser isotope separation has been under serious consideration in the United States for about 12-13 years. Work in this area has been ongoing at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) for more than a decade. Prom the earliest days of the program at LLNL, the atomic-vapor process received the majority of attention, and for the past 8 years it has been the only process receiving a significant level of support.
