Demonstration of a Silicon Photonic Transmitter for Space Division Multiplexing in MMFs

Abstract

We propose a photonic integrated circuit based solution for space division multiplexing with random mode excitation in multi-mode fibers (MMFs). As a proof of concept, a three mode transmitter is experimentally demonstrated.
