Ultra-High Efficient Thermal Tuning of Dielectric Optical Waveguides

Abstract

We show that high-refractive index silicon oxycarbide exhibits a record thermo-optic coefficient (2.5×10−4 °C−1), about 30× larger than that of silica, enabling the realization of low-power-consumption thermally-tunable dielectric photonic platforms.
