Phase matched second harmonic generation from a metal coated rippled core optical fiber

Abstract

A metal coated, rippled core optical fiber supports a surface plasma wave. The surface plasma wave produces a resonant second harmonic as the ripple provides the additional momentum required to compensate for the phase mismatch between second harmonic and fundamental wave.
