Plasmon-Induced Nonlinearities in Polarized Materials

Abstract

Optically excited plasmons are used to generate steep electric field gradients to alter the polarization of bulk materials. Ultrafast optical control of the polarization response is monitored by an orthogonally polarized supercontinuum probe.
