Mode-locked Microresonator Combs in the Normal Dispersion Region

Abstract

We investigate mode interaction aided modulational instability and dark solitons in normal-dispersion microresonators. A novel scheme of controllable mode interactions is demonstrated for repetition rate selectable and mode-locked comb generation.
