Waveguide-based Mid-Infrared Up-conversion Detectors

Abstract

Nonlinear optical up-conversion detectors for 3.4 µm radiation are realized using Ti:PPLN waveguides. Both, sum-frequency generation (SFG) and difference-frequency generation (DFG) are investigated. Overall power conversion efficiencies of more than 8 % are achieved.
