A Silicon Lens for Integrated Free-Space Optics

Abstract

We introduce a CMOS-compatible planar lens made of a hexagonal array of silicon posts, with a diameter distribution tailored to produce an arbitrary transmitted wavefront, opening the way to the integration of 3D optical systems.
