Single step epitaxial growth of Ge-on-Si for active photonic devices

Abstract

Germanium for integrated photonic devices has been grown selectively on Si, using a single step epitaxial process, eliminating the standard highly dislocated Ge or SiGe buffer layer to accommodate the Ge-Si lattice mismatch.
