Nonlinear Frequency Conversion in GaP Photonic Crystal Nanocavities

Abstract

Using photonic crystal nanocavities fabricated in the semiconductor gallium phosphide, we demonstrate second harmonic generation with nanowatts of input continuous wave powers (at 1550 nm). We also show sum frequency generation using two cavity modes.
