Low-Loss Microdisk-Based Delay Lines for Narrowband Optical Filters

Abstract

We propose to use over-coupled microdisk resonators with high intrinsic Qs as delay lines for narrowband optical filters. Design issues including coupling method, uniformity and nonlinearity are investigated. Preliminary experimental work is also presented.
