Nonreciprocal micro-ring resonator for the miniaturization of optical waveguide isolators

Abstract

By introducing nonreciprocal phase shifts into a micro-ring resonator, we propose a new design for the miniaturization of optical waveguide isolators. The operation of this nonreciprocal device is demonstrated by using a finite element method.
