Quantum Dot Lasers for High Frequency Systems

Abstract

5 Gb/s error free data transmission across 4 km fiber as well as 20 GHz hybrid and 35 GHz passive mode-locking of (InGa)As quantum dot (QD) lasers on GaAs substrates emitting at 1.3 pm are reported.
