Application of a Modified Finite-Difference Formula Based on Yee’s Mesh to Optical Waveguide Analyses

Abstract

A modified finite-difference formula for an arbitrary dielectric interface is applied to an imaginary-distance scheme. The numerical errors caused by a staircase approximation are reduced in the beam-propagation analysis.
