Simple Model for Signal-Noise Interactions in Optical Fibers

Abstract

We present a model for signal-noise nonlinear interactions taking into account fiber loss, dispersion to any order and the stochastic nature of the noise field. Comparisons with experiments show good agreement in both, anomalous and normal dispersion regions.
