Abstract

Space-division optical switches such as non-blocking NxN matrix switches and add/drop switches are indispensable for advanced fiber-optic communication systems. Recently, the network service capacity has increased with developments in optical wavelength-divisionmultiplexing (WDM) transport networks [1].
