BIREFRINGENT OXIDIZED POROUS SILICON BASED OPTICAL WAVEGUIDES

Abstract

We have found that integrated optical waveguides based on oxidized porous silicon have a relatively large birefringence. As a result, the modes of both polarizations are supported. The origin of observed phenomenon is disscused.
