Abstract

Recent publications from many organizations illustrate the progress in guided-wave switch technology. Experiments have evolved from single component demonstrations to arrays of devices on a single substrate and to the interconnection of many devices for system demonstrations. Switch array research has moved from a focus on new device physics to a focus on understanding the reproducible fabrication and integration of a large number of devices.
