Novel Frequency Domain Approach for the Analysis of Photonic Devices in Cylindrical Coordinates

Abstract

A novel scheme based on a finite element method (FEM) in conjunction with the perfectly matched layers (PML) for the analysis of discontinuities in photonic devices with cylindrical symmetry is proposed and validated.
