Abstract

STOP analysis is a powerful tool to evaluate designs for their as-built-performance. By directly coupling optical raytrace software with thermo-mechanical CAD packages the assessment of systems becomes faster and less error prone. In particular STOP analysis shows its value for optical systems under extreme conditions. The STOP method is explained and several use cases in different applications are presented.
