Three-dimensional Polarization Ray Tracing and Diattenuation Calculation

Abstract

A three-by-three polarization ray tracing matrix P for calculating polarization transformations associated with ray paths through optical systems is presented. Diattenuation of the optical system is calculated via singular value decomposition of the P matrix.
