Fast interpolation-based quality evaluation for digital-optical system optimization

Abstract

We describe a computationally-efficient approach to approximate the end-to-end MSE merit function for evaluating and optimizing digital-optical imaging systems based on interpolation. We use commercial lens design software to verify the approach.
