Femtosecond electron diffraction for the study of charge density waves

Abstract

We studied the dynamics of the periodic lattice distortion (PLD) in 1T-TaS2 by femtosecond electron diffraction. Coherent atomic motions in the nearly commensurate phase and the rotation of PLD have been revealed with increased photo-excitation.
