A Room Temperature Quantum Optical Memory

Abstract

We demonstrate a quantum memory based on warm 87Rb atoms surpassing the no-cloning limit for optical coherent states down to single photon level. The state reconstruction reveals a fidelity up to 93% with an average efficiency of 78%.
