Abstract

A single-photon source on demand based on single CdSe quantum-dot fluorescence in a chiral-photonic-bandgap liquid-crystal microcavity manifests itself in observed fluorescence antibunching. The aligned liquid crystal host also provides deterministically polarized fluorescence of single emitters.
