Ultrafast optical dephasing due to unscreened Coulomb scattering in semiconductors

Abstract

The role of the vector property of the interband transition matrix elements in the ultrafast polarization relaxation in semiconductors is exploited. An analytical expression of carrier-carrier dephasing is presented by using uncertainty-broadening approach.
