Abstract

We examine the nature of photon-atom entanglement generated in spontaneous emission processes. The entanglement appears in the continuous momenta associated with the emitted photon and the recoiled atom. We apply the Schmidt mode analysis to quantify the entanglement. The key parameters that control the entanglement are identified.
