Abstract
The Deutsch-Jozsa quantum algorithm is demonstrated experimentally for two-qubit functions using pure coherent superpositions of molecular (Li2) rovibrational eigenstates (wave-packets). An oracle encodes the function into a phase-tailored femtosecond laser pulse that transforms the molecule into a corresponding superposition. The function’s character (constant/balanced) is evaluated by probing (ionizing) the superposition using a second femtosecond pulse.
