Stochastic Cloud Clearing of Infrared Radiances Observed by the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS)

Abstract

A stochastic data-trained method is presented that estimates and compensates for cloud perturbations of hyperspectral IR radiances. The RMS accuracy is ~0.2-0.4K for ~60 selected channels, and the algorithm is computationally efficient.
