Design and Applications of the Brookhaven 100 TW CO2 Laser

Abstract

A peak power upgrade of the Brookhaven CO2 laser from 1 TW to the 100 TW level has commenced. Upgrade architecture and newly enabled experiments in the strong-field regime accessed by this laser are presented.
