Time-resolved-X-ray probes of material dynamics

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Ultrafast measurements of materials, which have been excited by short pulse lasers, can now be implemented using high intensity x-ray synchrotron based sources and fast detectors. I will discuss picosecond temporal resolution x-ray measurements of structural phase transitions, and x-ray scattering properties of non-equilibrium materials having high-energy density.
