The FEM Simulation of Ultra-precision Grinding of Optical Glass with Micro-structured Coarse-Grained Diamond Wheels

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The FEM simulation was employed to investigate the ultraprecision grinding of optical glass with microstructured coarse-grained diamond wheels. The effects of microstructures on force and stress distribution are studied. The scratching with single microstructured diamond grain were implemented.
