Abstract

Here we demonstrate a coupling-assisted electro-optic modulator by heterogeneously integrating a dual-gated indium-tin-oxide layer placed at the bus-island coupler region. Our experimental modulator shows a 2.1 dB extinction ratio for just 4 µm short device.
