Molecular optomechanical frequency upconversion at the single-photon level

Abstract

We investigate an optomechanical platform to up-convert MIR-THz photons to the optical domain. The coherent conversion enabled by molecular transducers inside doubly resonant nano-antennas can reach single photon sensitivity, opening new MIR-THz detection opportunities.
